About Me

My photo
I'm a thirty something food-loving professional who has decided to write a food blog rather than bore my Facebook friends with my constant food updates and photos. I love food and cooking and wanted to share my recipes and experiences with fellow-minded people. I am no chef but enjoy good, hearty traditional fayre at home and the occasional treat away from home. I am learning all the time and this blog will hopefully see my skills improve over time. It is documenting my progress if you like and giving me some motivation to improve.

Hungover New Year's Roast

The Watson's were a little hungover on New Year's Day and I wasn't planning on cooking more than hot roast beef sandwiches, but once I got in the kitchen that would not suffice and I set about cooking up a full-on Chez Watson feast.

We had a lovely joint of beef from the local butcher and I cooked filthy roast potatoes, Chez Watson cauliflower cheese (recipe posted previously), Yorkshire puddings, mashed carrots and swede, leftover Christmas sprouts, and peas with a rich gravy.  Mmmmmmmm.

All washed down with a nice Cote du Rhone from my brother-in-law, lovely!  Thank you Xander :)
