I went to 'Tabata' this morning at the gym and was iinitially quite worried. I've read up on it (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-intensity_interval_training) and it sounds pretty intensive so was a bit concerned that I might keel over at 10am on a Saturday after just a bagel. My concerns were short lived when I discovered that it was being taught by someone who looks about 12, I was the smallest in the class by far, and it consisted of 'star jumps' amongst other things. Don't get me wrong, it was hard work in parts but nothing like I was expecting. I did 7k on the treadmill afterwards, and some weights, so I guess it was a good warm up.
To compensate for my over-exertion, I went all out with the Chez Watson Saturday Steak. I made a Diane sauce with shallots, mushrooms (portobello, chestnut, and porcini), brandy and cream, and served with tender stem broccoli, roasted peppers and red onions, green beans fried in garlic butter, buttered spinach and mini roasted potatoes. Boy was it good!
Top tip: squeeze your wilted spinach out in a tea towel to get rid of excess water
